Mr Chris Ogden
Consultant Urological Surgeon
Chris Ogden has been a Consultant Uro-Oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital since 1995. Prior to this he qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (Imperial) in 1984 and gained fellowships in the USA to complete his specialist training.
Chris is a pioneer of robotic surgery in the UK with the longest and largest series of radical robotic prostatectomy operations performed by any surgeon in the UK. His ground-breaking work began in 2003 when he put together the first team in the UK to be recognised by Da Vinci robotic surgery as trained to perform robotic prostatectomy. Chris pioneered a new technique for prostate surgery in the UK - robotic assisted perineal prostatectomy.
Complimenting his clinical work Chris is actively involved in many research projects and has published extensively on prostate cancer and robotic surgery. He was the first UK urologist to present a peer reviewed paper at the national congress with full oncological and functional outcomes. Chris was the first UK urological surgeon to be invited on the faculty of international experts at both the World Robotic Symposium and the European Robotic Urology Symposium.
